Real ingredients. Real Food
A few years ago I found myself on a mission to find baked goods I felt comfortable feeding my family. That meant products without seed oils, preservatives, artificial ingredients, and fillers. You know…food…the way God intended. It shouldn’t have been as nearly impossible of a task as it was.
I’ve baked since I was child, so it wasn’t a matter of knowing how, rather not having a lot of time (shoutout to all us working moms!) to do my own baking every time I needed a slice of bread.
Well, I made the time. I had no choice. Thinking of my family’s long-term health was more than worth it. And to be honest, it’s not really a hardship. I enjoy baking, always have. I often find myself saying, “I could make that myself,” so I do. Baking is a creative outlet for me and my mind just shuts off for awhile. Before I know it, hours have passed.
I began making cinnamon rolls, sourdough bread, and cookies for my family, church events, and gave some as gifts to friends during the holidays. People started asking if I took orders or thought of starting my own business. I brushed it off for awhile. You know how we are sometimes, doubting our abilities, afraid of rejection and failure. But eventually it got me thinking… “Why not?” If I want quality baked goods for my own family, and knowing what a hard time I had finding that, others might want the same thing. And, truly, that little bit of southern in me likes to see people eat good!
So here we are, starting a new thing, trusting God do to with it what He will!
